SJP Takes the Step into Shoes

I would like to be a celebrity because they get to do whatever they want. I don't mean that in an Amanda Bynes, bad wigs and bong tossing kind of way (though that If this is what we can expect, I'm sold. doesn't seem to be working out well for her), or even the more philanthropic Angelina Jolie saving babies kind of way (because seriously, what would I do with that many kids?). I mean it in the "why can't I team up with an established company and be a designer?" kind of way. Sarah Jessica Parker is the most recent celebrity to announce she is launching her own line of shoes, bags and coats. She's teaming up with George Malkemu, CEO of Manolo Blahnik , and launching the collection, appropriately named "SJP." The collection will be available exclusively at Nordstrom (because apparently Macy's is for Madonna's stuff), and will also include bags and a few coats. The price points will be the higher end of affordable, ...

Finding the Shoe that Pops

Sometimes I get requests to find the perfect shoe, and I love searching until the ultimate heel is found. After posting my chartreuse peep toe heels today I got a question on where to find some good yellow heels. Shades and styles were discussed and it was eventually narrowed down to "neon." Truth or Dare Not exactly the most difficult challenge, but wow can this be fun. So here's some options in a variety of price ranges, and if you have additional suggestions, feel free to post them. You can also post photos of your own favorite shoe finds, because we all love shoes here. Nasty Gal Madonna offers up a great pair of neon yellow peep toes in her Truth or Dare line. Unembellished and classic these can add a pop of color to any outfit. If you're looking for something totally different in your neon, a pair of Nasty Gal  heel-less wedges with matching neon spikes can fill that void. Tying multiple trends into one shoe is also possible with the Qupid Pot...

Celebrity Shoes

I decided I should have my own shoe line. I mean why not? I like shoes, probably know more about them than a lot of women, have some great design ideas...all good things if you're going to start a shoe line. Who'd have thought this guy would make women's shoes? Oh, then there's also the fact the apparently now anyone can design shoes. Halle Berry has joined the long (and ever growing) list of celebs who has a shoe line. She will be "designing" 40 pairs of limited edition shoes for Deichmann , which will launch next month in the UK. Many others preceded her, some with their own brand, including Carlos Santana (love the shoes but does that even make sense?), Fergie (she actually wears her own line), Madonna (will never wear her own line), Jessica Simpson (better at fashion than singing), Cindy Crawford (also designed for Deichmann ), Kanye West (I wish I was kidding), Gwen Stefani (we all love L.A.M.B. ) and a bunch of celebs who designed shoes fo...
