July marks the unofficial beginning of barbecue season. Suddenly the rest of the summer is full of picnics, grilling, and drinking beers on friend's porches. No 6 from DSW I recently went shopping with my sister, hunting for a pair of black wedge sandals. The kind of fabulous basic sandal that will get you through all summer. I have a couple pairs of black sandals, all split wedges, peep toe, strappy and in both cases fabulous. They're the perfect shoe to go with a pair of capris, shorts or sundresses, and can be dressed up or down. After a failed attempt to find the perfect sandals at a couple different places, I promised to look for her and find a couple different options. Fergie Footwear DSW has a ton of options available, one of the best being the Mix No. 6 Erin Wedge Sandal . The wooden platform gives a great contrast to the black leather, and the woven detailing across the top of the foot it a nice detail. I am about to commit shoe-lover blasphemy. I have an opinion that goes against everything you've been told by bloggers all over. I don't care for ShoeMint . I'll give you a moment to clutch your pearls and call me some horrible names before proceeding with my argument. Wedge booties I've been wearing for months. Sarah Nicole Prickett has said that wedges are the most feminist of all heels. Probably. They're easy to walk in (generally) and give good height and lift, without the ball-bearing pain of stillettos. You always have a full foot on the ground, and they're generally too thick to slip into sidewalk cracks and sewer grates, so you're less likely to stumble into a face first meeting with the concrete. They're also a tricky design that can go very, very wrong very easily, and not all shoe manufactureers have been successful at pulling off this increasingly popular, and feminist heel.
