White shoes are kind of essential, right? I mean, I don’t own any, but other people do, and they always look great (or only sometimes). They’re the essential summer work shoe, and are amazing for all those garden parties I don’t go to because none of my friends are that sophisticated (or have gardens) and so I decided that I need to get my first pair of white shoes since Easter when I was 5. By the way, five-year-olds should not have white shoes, especially in patent leather. I’m pretty sure I somehow had grass stains on those before I even got outside. After searching and being bored with so many of the white heels I came across, I finally found a pair on ShoeDazzle that looked pretty damn amazing. White snakeskin with gold studs on the top. And they were on sale. Sold. Just a sampling of my collection of weapons/heels. Late summer brings all the fall fashions. Suddenly they start hitting the stores and it becomes obvious that a few styles will become prevalent and take over for the next few seasons. This fall that trend is apparently studs.  I have always been a fan of studs and spikes on everything from shoes to shirts and jackets, and this fall they're easy to find because they're on everything. Madonna in Dior Celebrities are generally looked to as being trend setters or shining examples of what not to wear. Few have managed to land on both of these lists (sometimes simultaneously) than Madonna . Her empire reaches far and wide, and she's now joining the long list of celebs who are calling themselves shoe designers. Madonna already has the successful Material Girl collection, but she's branching into adults accessories, fragrance, lingerie and shoes with Truth or Dare , which will again be available at Macy's .  I will shamelessly admit I have already mentally committed to getting this collection, and I'm not sure they've even started designing yet. How do you hide things in plain sight? If it's a pair of shoes in my closet, the answer is simple. Just put them in the closet. No one will notice another pair of shoes in there. Even after it's been cleaned. The trickier part is then introducing the shoes into regular rotation without answering where they came from and where they've been. Let's back up. About a week before the wedding I went shopping with my sister and bought new wedding shoes at Bakers . If you follow me on Twitter (which my hubby does not) then you know another purchase was also made at that time. A pair of black suede H by Halston ankle boots with a studded cuff. And they were on sale. And they counted as a boot, so I got 25% off my other shoes. So like a week before my wedding I spent a couple hundred dollars on shoes. New boots being incognito in the closet. I was going to skip them and just get the multi-colored glitter shoes, but my sister convinced me otherwise saying that they were ...

...and I don't own any. At least I don't think so. I have to go raid my closet, but I'm almost positive that I don't have one pair of shoes that is adorned with spikes or studs. I have clothes that fit that category, but I think as far as shoes go the closest I get is a bunch of buckles or hardware. Christian Louboutin has an amazing pair of heels that not only have studs, but also bows, which are covered in studs. The Clou Noeud Spikes. I only own polka dot shoes with bows. Two pair actually, and they're disappointingly less lethal than Louboutin's shoe. I guess I could beat someone to death with them, but I can't stab them with the cute little bows.   Today it was also announced that Ruthie Davis ' will be coming to Neiman Marcus (which is great if you don't have a boutique that sells her stuff in your area).
